Established 1882 · Dickinson, Texas
A quiet place on Dickinson Bayou
The Dickinson City Cemetery is the oldest burial ground in town, begun behind Dickinson’s first Methodist church. More than 800 people rest here, among them many of the community’s earliest families.
Our story
Born from a church that the 1900 Storm took away
When the circuit preacher serving Dickinson’s young Methodist congregation died suddenly in the 1880s, he was laid to rest behind the church. Members of the congregation followed. The Great Storm of 1900 destroyed the wooden church, which was rebuilt a few blocks away — but the burial ground stayed, and the Deats family looked after it for generations.

Do you have family here?
Some of the original records were lost when Hurricane Carla struck in 1961, and many graves have no stone. If you know who is buried in a family plot — or have photos, obituaries or Bible records — please share them so we can complete the record.
